Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

I. Length of publication

The Journal accepts for consideration manuscripts of the following volume:

article — from 40,000 to 80,000 printed characters (for articles in Russian and English);
review of the court decision — from 15,000 to 40,000 characters;
review of a scientific publication — from 10,000 to 20,000 characters.
Spaces are counted.

II. Manuscript design
All the texts are submitted in one file in Word format (.doc/.docx). A text must include the following elements:

  1. Title
  2. The details about the author(-s)
  • Full name, academic degree, academic rank, position (the main employer), location of employer (city and country), e-mail address.
  • ORCID.
  1. Abstract (300–350 words).
  2. Key words: 5–8 words or combinations of words separated from each other by commas.
  3. Citation: Smith J. Title // Zhurnal VSHE po mezhdunarodnomu pravu (HSE University Journal of International law). 2023. Vol. Х. No Х. P. ХХ–ХХ;
  4. The main body of the text
  5. References

A complete list of requirements for the text formatiing is contained in the Author Guidelines. The editors reserve the right to refuse to send the manuscript for review until the manuscript is brought into line with the Guidelines.
